My Top 5 Rappers Of All Time

Today, I will be naming my top 5 rappers of all time and a quick sentence or two on why they're in my top 5.

In fields such as sports, I don't like to make inter-generational comparisons but when it comes to something as timeless as music, I'm a bit more liberal to compare.

Why rappers? Because Hip Hop is one of my favorite genres. Right now, I listen to most current day rappers from Kevin Gates to Drake to Tyler, The Creator but my most of my favorite rappers of all time come from a different era.

Note: this list is unordered and only included rappers I've listened to with some consistency. It's also MY list so it's extremely subjective.

  1. 50 Cent - 50 wasn't the greatest lyricist but he had a musical presence on those gangsta tracks that cannot be taught because he really did live that life.

He also had an incredible stretch during the early to mid 2000s that may never be duplicated. Like Jay Z said, "50 came through, like hurricanes do"
  2. Nas - An incredible lyricist and story teller. There's not really much to say about Nas.
  3. Jay - Jay in the eyes of many is the GOAT. Because I don't believe in a single GOAT, I will say he's definitely one of the GOAT's though.

He's an incredible lyricist with legendary wordplay ability.
  4. Tupac - Considered by many to be the absolute GOAT but I think that's only because he died. Similar to Bob Marley, he was respected when he was alive but he became much more appreciated and revered upon his death.

Great storyteller and a very positive content.
  5. Eminem - Probably the greatest lyricist of all time. Out of all the guys on this list, I probably still listen to his music the most.

Drinking Games With My High School Crush

So I had something like a date with this girl I liked in high school two days ago. We talked and played drinking games and just had a good time. Here's the story:

I saw her at the mall a few weeks ago and she's beautiful as ever. We saw and remembered each other, talked for a little bit and exchanged numbers and started texting soon after. She had just moved back to Dallas after living in Houston for 7 years.

Fast forward to last week, she was bored and so was I so we decided we would meet up and catch a movie but the movie was sold out so she suggested we go back to one of our places and talk and catch up some more and maybe have a few drinks. It wasn't a flirty or sexual tone either; I don't want to give you that idea.

Anyway, we decided to go back to my place because I had a bar at my apartment and I live closer to the movie theater than she does. At my apartment, we wanted to include some fun activities in our drinking, so we looked up some drinking games for two people and found a few interesting ones.

We ended up spending about four hours just drinking and talking and overall just having a good time. Some of the drinking games helped up learn a lot about each other while the others were basically just card games with drinking. One of the things I learned with the lowered inhibitions was that she had also liked me back in high school.

when i found out she liked me

Anyway, we didn't get drunk but we were definitely tips and ended up making out until she was sober enough to drive home. Sorry I don't have a juicy ending with me scoring but I'd say it was a pretty good night! We talk every day now and I can see it going somewhere in the future. It's funny how life works.

Until next time!

I Got A Puppy!

Big news! I got a puppy recently! It may not sound like a big deal to most people, but it is to me. Why? Because this is my first pet. Not just my first dog, but pet overall.

With that in mind, I decided to name him Alpha for obvious reasons - if it's not obvious, Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and in Greek numerals, it has a value of 1. Alpha is a brown American Bully who I got from a friend of mine who breeds dogs. He is only three months old, however, I have a good bit of spending to make on shots at the vet and other miscellaneous things that may come up.

I'm not sure if I'll add any pictures of him to the blog yet but for now, I've decided to forego that option. The little bugger is noisy too, especially at nights, because he wants to sleep in my room with me but I can't let him because I don't want it to become a habit. So if there's anyone out there thinking about getting a pup - make sure you're all in because it's just like having a baby.

Okay, maybe not exactly like having a baby but it's pretty damn close. I have no kids of my own but I had siblings who were babies when I was in my teens so I remember what that was like for my parents.
